Gerontology education and awareness trainings are designed to dispel myths and misinterpretations about the aging process. Courses will cover basic gerontological concepts from a beginner’s learning perspective. Learning outcomes for each course will:
Increase the awareness and prevalence of health disparities and chronic disease among older adults
Support families, caregivers, and older adults in making informed decisions
Increase awareness of community resources and senior service programs
Increase knowledge of the social determinants of health
